Maternal Death Surveillance and Response: Annual Report 2017

The report was produced with the aim of (1) documenting maternal death cases for the year 2017, (2) providing adescriptive analysis of clinical events by looking at possible causes of maternal mortality, and (3) drawing lessons learned and recommendations for future practice. Furthermore, the report highlights the efforts that were put in place to strengthen the Maternal Death Surveillance and Response (MDSR) in the country, provide information to stakeholders on the current status of implementation of the MDSR, and informing stakeholders on existing challenges and planned strategies and MDSR to strengthen the existing system including fostering collaboration and partnership.
