In August, UNFPA Lebanon issued the third issue of “TANSEEQ (Coordination) for Ending GBV in Lebanon” newsletter, covering January-June 2011. TANSEEQ constitutes Lebanon’s very first national networking tool on GBV and provides a comprehensive snapshot of ongoing activities.

Since its launching, TANSEEQ has been attracting and ever-growing interest. In a constant growth throughout the issues, the number of contributors reached 18 governmental, NGO and UN actors in the area of GBV, 2 of which are promising youth women NGOs newly entering the national scene.

However, this issue’s special feature is an editorial drafted by the Minister of Social Affairs who commended UNFPA for its efforts, valuable initiative, and contribution to effectively ending all sorts of discrimination against women. Issue 3 also attracted the media and its issuance was published on the National News Agency’s website and reflected in other outlets.

“TANSEEQ” is issued in Arabic and English, on a bi-annual basis.
