Between October 1 and 6, all representatives of Y-PEER national networks gathered in Istanbul with their international partners to share experiences, launch the International Year of Youth and develop a global action plan; the occasion was the annual Global Advisory Board Meeting. This event was also the occasion for the Y-PEERs to select the National Network of the Year, and this year, the title was granted to Y-PEER Lebanon! In recognition for its 2010 achievements, the Lebanese network was awarded a medal in a ceremony held on the night of October 1st. The medal was received by Nadim Abu Alwan, Y-PEER Focal Point in Charge, on behalf of the network. Y-PEER Lebanon was selected among 48 national networks as National Network of the Year 2010. The selection is operated by Y-PEER International Coordinators and is based on a yearly evaluation of the performance of national networks, according to the following criteria: timely responsiveness of Focal Point in Charge to International Coordinators’ and PETRI Centers’ requests; timely and regular submission of activity logs to monitor the networks activities on monthly basis; degree of activism of the network; selection of a network member in International fellowships; selection of network members to represent Y-PEER in international events and conferences; contribution to international newsletters, etc. This award crowns the extensive teamwork and acts as an additional motivation for reinforcing it!
