This report was published by UNFPA, UNDP and UN Women with the aim of producing a tool that would allow actors promoting gender-based justice and equality in Lebanon to better understand the legislations and policies in place, with four main sections: (1) general overview of Lebanon's commitments at the international, constitution, national policies and strategies level; (2) outline of main aspects of discrimination and violence against women and girls in Lebanon through presenting the relevant laws; (3) protective laws adopted by Lebanon in the recent years; (4) outline of the main procedural and structural obstacles affecting access to gender-based justice and its consequences, and the obstacles that affect the most marginalized groups.
