The recent protests in Lebanon that witnessed hundreds of thousands of people demanding social and economic justice and reforms also provided a platform for reiterating many demands made for years by civil society activists. Those activists have repeatedly called for gender equality and legislation for removal of discrimination against women such as preventing early marriage, lobbying for a civil status law, women granting their children and spouse the Lebanese nationality, granting women child custody, etc.

The "People's Story" or "قصة ناس" depicts those women's recurrent issues in Lebanon through a story that brings hope that one day, through the perseverance of its people, Lebanon will eventually provide equal rights to its citizens in general and women in particular.
