Remote Gender Based Violence (GBV) Case Management during emergencies Guidelines
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, curfews, quarantines, and similar restrictions (variously described as stay-at-home orders, shutdowns or lockdowns) have been implemented in most countries around the world. Evidence has shown that circumstances under curfews and lockdowns have increased the risk factors for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) at the individual and social levels due to isolation and barriers to survivors and people at risk in seeking help and reporting their situation.

Country Brief – Violence against Women in the time of COVID-19 Lebanon 2020
In May 2020, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (UN Women), with support from the United Nations Population fund (UNFPA), undertook primary data collection around issues of violence against women (VAW) during the COVID-19 in Lebanon. The results outline increased concerns for safety, both inside and outside the home, as a result of the pandemic, with women reporting increased risks to domestic violence and attack by outsiders.
